• Inline water filter for cleaning & medical devices

i3 FOUR as a barrier for reprocessing and in treatment units

The i3 FOUR inline sterile filter offers reliable protection against contamination caused by waterborne pathogens such as Legionella pneumophilaPseudomonas aeruginosa or non-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM). It is installed to ensure the sterile filtration of tap water in the inflow pipes of devices and instruments.

    • Assists prevent infections caused by waterborne pathogens from water pipes

    • Specifically developed to protect immunocompromised and immunosuppressed patients

    • Wide range of applications (in the reprocessing of medical devices, in dental and ENT units, etc.)

    • Compact design for use in medical devices and instruments

There are many fields of application for i3 FOUR. In medical situations, the bacteria filter is used when reprocessing medical devices (e.g. endoscopes) as well as in ENT and dental treatment units. This is in addition to other fields such as drinking water supply (dispensers), HVAC technology and in laboratories, where the i3 FOUR inline water filter provides a protective barrier against waterborne pathogens.

    • Both the manufacturer of medical devices for reprocessing as well as the Robert Koch Institute stipulate the use of rinsing water that is free of microorganisms during the reprocessing of medical devices and instruments. The i3 FOUR bacteria filter is ideal for this field of application. It is installed inline before the cleaning gun, which is used during manual and partly automatic reprocessing for pre-cleaning and final rinsing.

    • Ear, nose and throat doctors normally use drinking water from the mains supply to rinse a patient’s ear canal. The use of an i3 FOUR inline filter ensures that this drinking water is free of microorganisms and is microbiologically safe for patients and users. The i3 bacteria filter features a microfiltration membrane and is installed between the connection tube of the cleaning gun and the connection piece of the ENT treatment unit. It meets all requirements (volumetric flow rate, pressure and temperature resistance, dimensions) for the use of the filter in an ENT treatment unit.

Before you, as a customer or user, use an inline filter for in an ENT treatment unit, please speak with the manufacturer of the ENT treatment unit first.

    • Dental offices must ensure that the dental treatment unit (dentist chair) uses drinking water which is free of microorganism and microbiologically safe for patients and users. Especially when it comes to older treatment units, this requirement can only be satisfied by the frequent use of chemicals for cleaning and disinfecting the water supply within the unit.

To ensure these chemicals are effective, it is possibly necessary to filter contaminated water before it enters the treatment unit. The interplay between the water filtration and the suitable chemicals guarantees a microbiologically safe use of dental treatment units. The i3 bacteria filter is installed within the water supply, behind the angle valve and before the treatment unit.
